The First Art Gallery

What are believed to be the world's oldest works of art have been discovered on Spain's Costa del Sol.

The six paintings of seals are 42,000 years old and are the only known art to have been created by Neanderthal Man.

Homeland Security Snow Cones

According to the Greenville Daily News, the Board of Commissioners in Montcalm noted that they had been presented with a snow-cone machine, and while they probably appreciated this unexpected gift, they did inquire as to whether the $900 treat-maker was an appropriate use of homeland-security dollars. (Apparently, another county - anonymous for now - requested the machine, and somebody thought that was such a good idea that all 13 counties got one.)

“It is used to attract people so they can be educated and prepared for homeland security,” [Sandeep] Dey said from his office in Muskegon. “More importantly, they (homeland security officials) felt in a medical emergency the machine was capable of making ice packs which could be used for medical purposes.”

    Right.

A WTF, Wrapped In An Enigma...

     Strange goings on in Zimbabwe...again!

Last month a man in Bulawayo was hounded from his neighborhood by his neighbors who claimed he was keeping a gaggle of goblins that were raping his and the neighbor's wives.

Now, the Minister for Water Resources, Sam Sipepa Nkomo, has told a Senate committee that mermaids have frightened away workers at three different dam sites in the Midlands.

"Nkomo told a senate oversight committee that traditional chiefs are going to perform rituals to appease restive mermaids believed to inhabit water reservoirs in Gokwe and Mutare where workers are afraid to tread."

Local legends say that mermaids will carry humans away underwater and if there is an outcry their victims will never be seen again. It is also said that the victims may return as spirit mediums if not mourned.

Nkomo said that he tried to hire White workers who didn't know the local legends, but they were frightened away too.

Zulu Singer Claims He Rose From the Dead

Khulekani Mgqumeni "Kwakhe" Khumalo, one of the best known figures in traditional Zulu music, Died in December 2009.

He says he's feeling much better now.

A man claiming to be the late musician reappeared on January 29 of this year. His grandmother and several other relatives including his daughter and two common-law wives insist that it is indeed him. Several local politicians and journalists attended the funeral two years ago.

"There is no way I can get confused over Kwakhe," his grandmother said. "He is looking a little worn, and his cheeks are less chubby, but it's him."

The authorities are somewhat more skeptical. He was arrested and taken into custody pending the result of a DNA test. If the DNA test is positive, there will be an exhumation.

He claims to have been held prisoner by zombies for the last two years and that they were preparing to preform a ritual to transform him into a water spirit called a tokoloshe.

They Are a Threat to US How?

Each star represents a U.S. Military base. Add to that our overthrowing the government of Iran in the 50s and installing the Shah, who ruled with an iron fist for over 25 years and it is easier to see how trust is hard to come by.

Not saying they are the good guys, just that the U.S. is not the best choice for a country to persuade them to do something...unless you want negotiations to fail, that is.

Father Shoots Son over Karraoke

"I can't believe he shot me."

William Henry Oller Sr., 70, was arraigned Monday in Shasta County Superior Court on attempted murder and other charges in connection with the shooting of  his son, William Carr Oller Jr., 50.

"According to a Shasta County sheriff's summary of events, the junior Oller told investigators the shooting erupted after he and his father argued over his playing of karaoke music. The report did not specify what song might have ignited the argument and sheriff's detectives have said they don't know."

At one point the father, who had traveled from his home in Sacramento to visit the son, apparently grew weary of the son's playing karaoke and said "I'm going to shut you up." He then  went to his pickup truck and returned with a semi-automatic pistol.

The son, deciding that retreat was in order, went inside and locked the door. After some time he opened the door again believing his father had left the porch.

    He was wrong.

His father was waiting and pointed the gun at him again. A struggle ensued and the son was shot in the arm, shoulder, and chest. His attorney also claims he sustained a head wound.
